FBC ST MARTIN WAVE SHOW 2010 & NUIT DE LA GLISSE
Zoom in on the huge success of an event that is now a reference for all Addicted riders from all over the Caribbean !
The first Wave Show was in 2005 and came from a desire of promoting our favourite watersports and their magic, whilst giving local talents the chance to get known by a wider public. Since then, every edition has exploded in size and reputation to become what is now a unique experience all over the Caribbean.
This year again, the spot of The Galion (Natural Reserve of St Martin) and Jean Seb Lavocat’s infamous Windy Reef FBC St Martin center was the theater of 3 days packed with incredible action, shared between expression sessions, contests and demos both in windsurfing and surfing, with the young generation always in mind. It excels more every year and brings a bright future to our sports !
It took 4 months of intense work for Jean Seb Lavocat and his partners to organize this massive event and bring together an impressive collection of international champions and riders representing all of the major action Watersports
To top it all, Gollito, the triple world champion in Freestyle windsurfing, played an integral part in the event, amazing the crowd with his unique style and incredible moves on the water, and simply showing what the cream of windsurfing is truly about ! These lucky people will keep an out-of-this-world impression, and will run back to the water more motivated and inspired than ever before.
The superb conditions at the spot also attracted a large amount of surfers of all ages who competed eagerly to show their level and progress to the crowd throughout the week-end, the youngest (70 of them !) surpassing themselves in the eyes of the professionals. Waterboys & Girls Surf Club St Martin rules !
But it was far from over…
La Nuit de la Glisse in St Martin:
Last but not least Waikiki Beach offered a fantastic location and decor for the night’s programme and joy ! Again perfectly orchestrated, the nights of the Wave Show have been hot and more intense than ever before, and the Nuit de la Glisse attracted over 1200 people to the celebrations.
New this year was a non-stop 6 hour light and sound Water Show of professional wake boarders and freestyle jet skiers, but also the exclusive presentation of the latest and most extreme windsurfing video ever 4 Dimensions of André Paskowski, along with a Quiksilver fashion show, the contests prize giving ceremony and some great live band performance and DJ action, leaving the crowd dancing until the early hours of the morning, with Gollito present at every minute of the event.
“It is above all a beautiful human adventure, initiated by professionals who live and share their passion for watersports and the ocean in an intense way. “ explained Jean Seb.
He also added “The public has left with more than they had ever expected and are already asking about the next Wave Show, which really makes the whole thing incredibly positive for all who were
there. Hope to see you here in St Martin, and to see if we can make it even better next year“
