Seaview Animals  30.01.2010

Funny and curious things can be seen in El Yaque when you just walk through the small Village with open eyes. One of those surely are the Animals which discovered the walls around El Yaque´s houses as their playground or just as nice opportunity to get closer to their food, which in case of the goats most likely is the main goal. That the animals received their acrobatic skills by observing the Wind and Kitesurf Freestylers might be a rumor and if the wall dogs were just smart enough to realize that the higher position makes the house protection easier, who knows, but maybe those animals just like to enjoy the nice seaview

Relief for the Island  29.01.2010

Surely for a tourist it might not be the most welcome situation dealing with a full rainy day, but the first 24 hours rain in the past months certainly was a big relief for the entire Island. Not only the Islands plants and flowers needed some alimentation, the power plants, working with water energy, were close to collapse and  the dust has been erased from streets and houses. With the small responsable deep pressure zone over Venezuela vanishing in the early friday morning, tourists should be back to enjoy the pure sunshine

Wind stopps work ?  26.01.2010

Work is for people who don´t surf surely is not the exact slogan for the people working in El Yaque, but in a windy season it can happen that some meetings get cancelled or postponed, folders not opened for a while and Computers remain cold. In the 2009 - 2010 El Yaque season, the office desdks might be packed with unopened folders covered by dust and Computers could need some updates before being used again. The wind in the southern Caribbean just doesn´t stopp to blow and provide a great Funpark for all Windsurfers and Kitesurfers, if tourists or locals, the daily schedule is influenced by the windforce and so most work is done before sunrise and after sunset. The super windy season is caused by the phenomenom called El Nino where the watersurface in the Caribbean Sea doesn´t get cooled down enough and sea currents shift slightly and cause some major storms and rain periods in most parts of latin america, while the eastern parts lives a very dry and windy period
