Worldclass Kite Area - new in El Yaque

 

During the past two years the entire Beach has changed extremely and especially Downwind of the Windsurfing zone, close to the El Yaque entrance, a truly beautiful Kite Area has been created by mother nature. Only few steps from the Posadas like the El Yaque Motion Guesthouse, some of the Kitecenters have already started to use the immense space to teach their clients, on flatwater and with much more consistant winds than at the upwind main beach... read full report incl. all images

 

Reggae Fest 2011 in Playa El Yaque.

Reggae Music is nothing that unusual for a caribbean beach and so neither for El Yaque, almost weekly Reggae live acts can be enjoyed at various Bars at the Beach, but the Reggae Fest brings five Top Acts to El Yaque Beach, like Negus Crew or Guayoyo. One of Isla Margarita´s Top Radio broadcasters " La MEGA" was transmitting live for one hour and the El Crowds got deserved a nice menu of Top Reggae right at the Beach, thanks to the Canoa Restaurant and Bar and the Prokitegua

Copa ONA El Yaque

Competition time in El Yaque. The 2011 edition of the Copa ONA takes place between March 24th and 27th. Three exciting days, action packed with finest watersports, in El Yaque. The weather has changed right on time and already the day before Competition the wind started to blow again and was supposed to get pretty strong for the Competition. Killer Mountain Challenge 2011

The second edition of a really challenging Bike Contest

 In 2010 the canadians Al and Nora, running the Casa Nora Posada including Bike Tours, organized the Killer Mountain Challenge for the very first time. Killer Mountain at this caribbean Island ? Biking Margarita

There is Mountain Biking at the Island of Margarita just that still it has not really been noticed even with quite some local Bike Clubs using the narrow tracks along the Lagoons and through the tropical forests around the Cerro de Copey for long time. Windsurf Revolution  

The name El Yaque is one of the most famous in Freestyle Windsurfing. Not only three times Worldchampion Ricardo Campello, three times and actual Worldchampion Gollito Estredo and female Worldchampion Colette Guadagnino grew up in the small windy, Fishervillage. Young Guns like Cheo Diaz, Alexis Zabala and Douglas Salazar could get some succesfull and less succesful Worldcup experiences.

Latina in Denmark  

El Yaque Local and female Pro Windsurfer Yoli de Brendt reports at 1498 one of her latest Tripps in Europe before she came home to El Yaque. A true Latina at the danish coasts :

Campello and Estredo at Coldhawaii Wave Worldcup 2010

El Yaque is very well known for its Top Windsurfers, especially with three times Freestyle Worldchampion Ricardo Campello and four times Freestyle Worldchampion Gollito Estredo as native citizens. Both of the Top Freestye Windsurfers have started to fight also in the number one discipline of the Sport, in Waveiding, to fight for honours. Campello already started a couple of years ago and got quite some impressive results in his portfolio until today, while actual Freestyle Guru Estredo is sailing his first complete Wave Tour.
