Travelling to a windy place one of the most important things one would like to have is - wind. But what happens if the aircurrent is just not strong enough, the weather systems deny to send some nice breeze to your choosen Spot, something that can and will happen anywhere in the world and even at Top Destinations. Too many factors are involved to create a decent windsystem and even more factors to easily destroy or interrupt those systems. Tropical Storms, Hurricanes in the Caribbean Sea, massive Low pressure areas over the Atlantic Ocean, heavy storms in the Atlantic or even Seaquakes sending some Swell and so change the temperature of the watersurface, are only a few of those which might interfear with the weather system responsable for the winds at El Yaque Beach. If the wind just doesn´t want to blow for a couple of days, most people head in hurricane speed towards some serious depressions. Being at a Lake in the middle of the desert, that actually might be pretty much reasonable. Spending time at the Island of Margarita, one should actually be happy to get a day or two off and check the entire beauty of the Island.

Why is it, how come you decided to stay at Margarita  ? certainly is the number one on the frequent asked question list of most venezuelan immigrants. The standard answers might fill enough space and pages for an entire book, maybe no Bestseller but still.

Not only those who decided to announce the Island as new or second home, also the tourists and the venezuelan citizens of course just like the place because of its massive variety on the To Do list. Besides the well known and mostly pretty touristic Island Tours to the most beautiful Beaches of the Island like Playa El Agua, Playa Caribe, Manzanillo or Playa Parguito, to the Island´s capital La Asuncion, some typical Restaurants, Museum or Boat Trips through the Lagoon of La Restinga, which connects the Island of Margarita and its desert part Macanao, there is much more to do and to explore.

Starting with the sports, no wind means no Wind and Kitesurf obviously, but with some Swell some pretty good Surf and SUP and if there´s no swell either, the Biketrails wait to be explored as already described in the 1498 Sunday Report just two weeks ago, two Go Kart Cicuits in Porlamar wait for some spectacular races, Top and first league Basket and Baseball Games can be visited, maybe right after a nice hike through the impressive nature along waterpools and up onto the Mountain Cerro de Copey. If a day off should mean a day without any sports, no problem. Especially the City of Porlamar got quite something to offer, not only talking about the big Shopping Malls like Rattan, Jumbo, Sambil or the Mall La Vela, which has just opened last year with some pretty nice Stores, Cafes and Restaurants, but also the Cinemas, Live Music Pubs and Restaurants and the Teatro del Mar, the Island´s Theatre in the late afternoon or night and the waterpark, tropical garden, feel some of the spirit at the church of El Valle or get to know some of the Island´s history at the fortresses of Pampatar, La Asuncion or Juan Griego at daytime. No wind, no problem, relax and also take a day off
